We are very pleased and extremely proud to be able to share our recent Ofsted report with you. Rumboldswhyke is a ‘Good’ school with an ‘Outstanding’ Early Years provision. I’d like to start by letting you know the inspector was extremely impressed by the parents, pupils and staff’s effusive praise for the school’s community spirit and welcoming atmosphere.
The inspectors were extremely complimentary about all they saw over the two days, highlighting the well-planned and ambitious curriculum and the learning experiences which culminate in an opportunity for pupils to apply what they have learned and produce a clearly defined outcome. We are really pleased that the inspectors recognised that we prioritise reading and that books play an important role in our curriculum.
Our curriculum plans in Reception are exceptional and the staff make highly effective adaptations based on how the children are progressing. Staff ensure there are a wide range of activities available which develop each of the areas of learning.
We are incredibly proud of the children and the respect they show towards each other. They exude our school values of ‘love, compassion, respect and hope’ and can explain what they mean and how to demonstrate them.
We are also very proud of the staff. Children enjoy their time here and the staff work tirelessly to provide the best possible education in a nurturing and creative environment, ensuring our children ‘live life in all its fullness’. Rumboldswhyke is a special place to be.
