Olympic Day

On Wednesday 3rd July, we held an Olympic Day. Initially we all met in the hall and found out about the Olympic logo and the symbolism behind the five rings. (Please ask your child what the 5 rings represent, tell them Mrs Harris says they should know). Then the children were assigned one of four groups which were named after the continents. (We discussed how there are seven continents but we could not split them into seven groups as we do not have 7 classrooms).  They spent the day visiting all four classrooms and learning about a different aspect of the Olympics. It was a great day that encouraged lots of collaboration with older children supporting younger children.
